Sisters make the world go round

From the moment I was born she was there,
Staring at me with her gorgeous big blue eyes and friendly happy smile.

She makes me giggle with her jokes and never fails to cheer me up when I am feeling down.

She makes me so proud when I look at her and I know we will have a strong bond for the rest of our lives.

My sister means the world to me

Food

If you asked my mummy and daddy the one thing they would like to change about me, they would probably say my eating habits.

I have reflux which means I am often sick after eating and drinking and get a lot of pain and bloating.

Imagine everytime you ate you would feel sore or would be sick, would it put you off your food?

Maybe now you can understand why my relationship with food is so bad.

I do like food but find the after effects very distressing so now most days I only have a nibble and leave the rest.

I know mummy and daddy worry a lot about my eating as some days I have a slice of toast and nothing else.

The one big thing I do not like is when my food is on the plate and is touching another food.

When we have spaghetti bolognaise I have my pasta and sauce separate and the same with curry and rice.

My favourite foods are

Yorkshire Puddings
Baked Beans
Vegetables
Fruit

I take medicine for my reflux and it helps a lot and I hope one day I will be pain and sickness free for ever without medicines.

School

I attend a special needs school here in Manchester and have made so many good friends in the 1 and a bit years I have been attending.

I am the only girl in my class which is great fun as it means I have the boys wrapped around my little finger,
but it can get tough having no girls in my class as the boys don't like to play fairies or dollies with me.

In my class there are 5 teacher and 8 children which is just perfect as it means we all get the extra help we need during the day which I wouldn't get at a mainstream school like my big sister attends.

I know my mummy and daddy worried a lot when it came to choosing a school for me but they made the right choice!

I am very lucky as I have my very own taxi to school which picks me up every morning, my driver is funny and he makes me laugh a lot.

The things I most enjoy about school are my weekly swimming sessions on a friday in the hydrotherapy pool, Assemblies and playing in the big playground.

I love my school

What do you think when you see me?

You think I am naughty?

You feel sorry for me?

You are scared of me?

The truth is probably all 3!

I am not naughty, you don't need to be afraid of me and you don't need to feel pity for me as my life is great!

I am AUTISTIC!!!

Many people avoid me and don't like to play with me, people can be rude and stare especially when I have a meltdown.

This makes me feel sad.

Shaking, grunting, screaming, crying etc is the way I communicate with the world.

I get scared easily and often find myself in situations I don't like and the only way I can tell you I am not happy is by doing one of the above actions.

Everything you do is completely alien to me and doesn't make a lot of sense.

So next time you see me take a moment to try and understand that.
